A compliant AI assistant for law enforcement agencies
Evertech built the AI assistant inside a public-safety software platform — fast, compliant answers for law enforcement agents, grounded in their own data.
The challenge
A software company building tools for law enforcement needed an AI assistant its agency customers could actually use. Off-the-shelf AI was a non-starter: the sector’s rules are strict, sensitive records cannot leave the agency’s control, and agents need answers they can trust — grounded in their own data and protocols, not a generic model’s guesses.
What Evertech built
Evertech built the AI assistant at the core of the platform. It runs on retrieval over each agency’s own records and standard operating procedures, so every answer is grounded and cited back to the source. We engineered it against the sector’s compliance requirements — CJIS controls, strict data isolation, access logging, and encryption — from day one rather than bolting them on later. The result is an assistant agents can talk to in plain language and get the information they need in seconds, without anything leaving their control.
Results
The platform reached CJIS compliance in six months with complete data isolation. Law enforcement agents now pull grounded, cited answers from their own data and protocols in seconds — a friendly, compliant front door to information that used to take manual searching. Evertech’s client shipped a differentiated, compliance-ready product into a market where that bar is the price of entry.
